The Characteristics of an Ambassador

The Characteristics of an Ambassador

So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.  John 20:21

An ambassador is a unique individual, one of a political position in all kingdoms.  His disposition must be understood fully, in order to appreciate the power and distinction of this revered position.  Here are some very important qualities and priorities of an ambassador:

a.  He is appointed by the king, not voted into position;  b.  He is appointed to represent the state or kingdom;  c.  He is committed only to the state’s interest; d.  He embodies the nation, state or kingdom;e. He is totally covered by the state; f.  He is the responsibility of the state;   g.  He is totally protected by his government; h.  He never becomes a citizen of the state or kingdom to which he is assigned; i.  He can only be recalled by the king or president; j.  He has access to all his nation’s wealth for assignment; k. He never speaks his personal position on any issue, only his nation’s official position; l.  And his goal is to influence the territory for his kingdom government.  Now all of these guidelines apply to each Kingdom citizen of Heaven who has been appointed by the government of heaven to represent heaven on earth.  This is why Jesus admonished us not to be anxious concerning our lives but to focus on the Kingdom.  Then He said to His disciples, “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; nor about the body, what you will put on…  Everything we need for life that will assist our kingdom assignment on earth, will be provided by the government of heaven.

Thoughtful Questions:

  1. You are a representative of the Kingdom of God.  How does this influence the way in which you interact with the people around you?
  2. As an ambassador, you are on Kingdom business, committed only to the states’ interests.  How does this fact influence your view of your earthly purpose?  How does it reorder your priorities?
  3. As God’s ambassador, you have access to all the Kingdom resources you need for your assignment.  How does this influence the way in which you view your finances and material possessions?

Food for Though:  Now we are ambassadors of our Kingdom government, representing our government’s mind, will purpose and intent on the earth.  This is so that His kingdom can come and His will can be done on earth, just as it is in heaven.  We are charged only to speak what our King speaks, not our own personal opinion or religious traditions and customs.  Therefore, whenever an ambassador is asked to comment on any issue, he is obligated to speak his government’s position.  He simply quotes the Constitutional (Bible) position on matters.  You must study your Constitution to know and understand your government’s position on all issues pertaining to life.
