God‟s Story – God‟s Way

II-God‟s Story – God‟s Way

Every Learner will be able to:

 Tell God‘s story.

 Draw the Roman Road.

 Identify and repeat the 5 verses of The Roman‘s Road.

 Share the 4 essentials of evangelism: John 4:14 – 42.

[Before you begin lesson 2 check that all people have given their testimony to their targeted people.]

[Last lesson you looked at your story and how to tell your story. This lesson we will learn to tell God‟s story. The Roman‟s Road is a simple way of telling God‘s Story. It will help you evangelize using Scripture.]

Telling God‘s Story

Draw the following simple diagram:

Explain the gap is man‘s separation from God

V-Separation Diagram

  1. Romans 3:23 says, ―All have sinned, and have fallen short of the glory of God.‖

To sin means to miss the mark. If I try to throw a rock over a mountain, my attempt will fall short. Some will throw farther than others, but all will fall short.

  1. Romans 6:23 says, ―The payment of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.‖

What we earn for being a sinner is death. What we receive from God, as a free gift, is life.

Have someone repeat the two verses. Then have the entire class recite them several times until the whole class is comfortable doing so.

Draw in the Cross to cover the gap

V+Cross Bridge The Gap

  1. Romans 5:8 says, ―While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.‖

This means that He took the separation from God that we

deserve. It also means that He did not ask us to clean ourselves up first in order to deserve eternal life. While we were sinners Jesus died in our place. And finally…

  1. Romans 10:9 says, if you ―confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.‖

To believe means to depend upon. When you sit down on a chair you depend on it to hold your weight. When we depend

on Jesus we trust Him to do for us what He says He will do. When we trust that Jesus died in our place, we are depending on Him to carry the weight of our sin.

Have a volunteer repeat these verses below. Have the whole class recite them together.

Have two volunteers come up and draw the diagram and explain the verses.

THE FOUR ESSENTIALS OF EVANGELISM

(John 4:4-42)

The Samaritan woman shows us 4 essentials in evangelism. These are:

28 – Immediate Obedience

29 – Personal Testimony

29 – Gospel Presentation

30 – Introduction to Jesus

The Scripture tells us that many believed. If you want to see many come to faith in Christ then you can follow the examples above.

Action for the week:

 During the week – tell the next five people on your list God‘s Story. Also, draw the diagram and give it to them.

For Further Study this Week:

By now you have identified friends, family, and neighbors, and already started telling your story. You are also now ready to share with them God‘s story this week. As you do, there are a few things to consider as you continue this journey:

 Pray for the people on your list you wrote last week.

 Keep a journal of how God answers your prayers!

 Ask God to open the hearts of these people around you and bring them to Christ, and make them faithful followers of Jesus.

 Ask God to give you wisdom and discernment on how to apply the steps and tools you are learning each week.

 Ask God to give you strength, help you be faithful, and fill you with His love for the people you will be speaking with this week.

Seek the people whom you are praying for, and actively look to do things together. As you consider your relationships with the people on your list, ask yourself the following questions?

􀁸 What would those you are praying for say about their relationship with you? Why would they say this? In what areas are you not being a good friend? What steps do you need to take for this to change? How can you build better relationships/friendships?

How can you be more authentic with these people.

Remember that growth in this area will not only benefit you but will also serve you to build God’s Kingdom.

A few practical ways to ask People how you can pray for them. Remember to follow through and actually pray !

―I know this may sound a little strange, but I have been praying for you lately, and I was wondering if there is anything specific in your life I can pray for this week?‖

―I have a personal ministry of praying for people. Is there anything in your life that I may be praying for this week?‖

Can I pray for you right now? (Choose a location that is quiet)
